Polyethylene film (PE) is a plastic film made of ethylene, a hydrocarbon derived from natural gas or petroleum. PE film has many uses and therefore has a variety of names, including plastic sheeting, polyethylene sheet, poly sheeting and poly film. Polyethylene is the most common plastic used in the world today, with over 100 million tons of PE resin produced each year. PE accounts for approximately 34 percent of all plastic produced globally.
PE Film / Polyethylene Film. In fact, it is produced from a raw material called F2 and has a soft structure, popularly called nylon. However, it is also available in low-density, relatively softer films called LDPE, and high-density, relatively harder films called HDPE.
It is not surprising that PE film is used for a wide variety of purposes because it is lightweight, highly flexible, has protective properties, is relatively cheap to produce, and can be formed into solid, crystalline structures. In fact, it is the most widely used plastic in the world. Here are just a few of the applications of polyethylene film:
bottles, bags and plastic products
toys
pipes and tubes
packaging and packaging material
labels
To protect machinery and equipment
For covering and protecting surfaces
Polyethylene naturally biodegrades, but it can take decades for this to happen. Since polyethylene film is easy to produce, lightweight and inexpensive, you'll find it used in almost every industry.
Polyethylene is the cheapest labeling material you can find, which is why many companies use polyethylene to produce their labels. Polyethylene labels are strong, flexible, durable and have excellent resistance properties, making them useful for a wide variety of applications.
They have excellent insulating properties and high resistance to chemicals and moisture. Polyethylene labels work well for squeezable containers because they are flexible. Labels can also be easily recycled along with the packaging, making them better for the environment.
